Mr. Cheema received his M.Engg. in Environmental Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Bangkok, Thailand. Currently he is working as Project Coordinator of ICTP (Introduction of Cleaner Technologies for Tanneries Cluster of Punjab) project. This project is financed and monitored by the Dutch Embassy in Pakistan. Under his supervision the ICTP team of national and international experts are implementing the project components such as Institutional Networking, Dissemination and Communication, Institutional Development, IEE Survey and Database Development, Environmental Audits, Env. solution packages/case studies, Training and Human Resource Development and end of pipe treatment.

Mr. Cheema is working as advisor for ETPI (Environmental Technology Program for Industry) and his specific inputs are, conducting environmental audits, preparation of action plan and design and construction supervision of cleaner production options (CP) and wastewater treatment systems in industries. Under ETPI project he has worked for Engro Chemicals, Shakarganj Sugar Mill, Century Paper Mill, Flying Paper, Noon Dairy, Chaudhary Dairy and Prime Tannery etc. He has worked for GTZ financed Hospital Waste Management project in Peshawar as team leader and a European Union environmental study project at Jhelum. He is Incharge of NEC environmental laboratory services at Lahore, which is providing environmental testing facility to industrial sector. He is also managing business development work in Punjab and NWFP regions for NEC.

Mr. Cheema has worked in South East Asia, as Senior Professional Engineer for about five years. In Thailand he got opportunity to work with Mott Macdonald's UK for pollution management project in eastern basin. Under this project he worked as modeler for 12 rivers and one Sonkhla Lake pollution modeling, using MIKE-11 and MIKE-SHE and one spread model prepared by himself. Being a Lead Auditor for ISO 14000 he is also working for implementation of EMS in industries. Currently he is LEAD associate with LEAD Pakistan.

Mr. Rashid Ahmed possesses an M.Sc. Chemistry degree (1996) form University of  Karachi. Mr. Rashid Ahmed also possesses an M.B.A degree in Marketing (1998) from an affiliated unit of Preston University, U.S.A. At present he is student of M.Sc. Applied Environmental Sciences at Punjab University, Lahore.

Mr. Rashid is presently working with National Environmental Consulting (Pvt.) Limited as 'Laboratory Incharge/Leather Technologist'. He is involved in the implementation of 'Introduction of Cleaner Technologies in Tannery Clusters of Punjab' (ICTP) project for the last 18 months. His main tasks include carrying out Environmental Audits and to implement cleaner production options in the target tanneries covered under the project. Mr. Rashid has also worked as 'Quality Control & Production Incharge' in Nutri Pak Foods Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., Karachi, manufacturers of vegetable oil & ghee, for two years (1998-1999).

Mr. Rashid has worked as 'Laboratory Incharge' in MIMA (Pvt.) Limited, Karachi, one of the largest tannery of Pakistan, for three years (1995-1997), where his duty was application of new chemicals in Raw to Finish tanning processes. Mr. Rashid worked as 'Production Chemist in Unichem Corporation (Pvt.) Limited for one year (1994-1995), where his duty was to control the production processes of White synthetic glue and paint resin. Mr. Rashid has also worked as 'Laboratory Chemist' in Engro Chemical Pakistan Ltd., 1992, where he carried out the analysis of Water and Wastewater, Urea and Ammonia.

Mr. Sallah Uddin Khan holds the Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (partial) from Punjab Institute of Computer Science (PICS). He joined NEC in March 1997 as CAD Operator. His duties are to prepare detailed drawings on AutoCAD, including maps and plans for buildings and structures, wastewater treatment facilities, plumbing, electrification and drainage. His duties include preparation of topographical maps, land use maps and submission drawings as well. Alongside, he is  responsible for the purchases.

Before joining NEC, he worked as Site Supervisor in Craftsman Inc., where his duties were to prepare drawings (including maps and plans), construction supervision and activity scheduling. It also included purchase of equipment and material. Mr. Khan also has seven years experience of marketing of various goods on his credit.

During his ten years experience, he worked under Middle Schooling Project and Education Center Extension Project. These projects were completed in collaboration of World Bank and Asian Development Bank, in various cities. He was also  involved  in  Project  Management,  Field surveys,  Preparation  of  detailed Designs and  Construction  Drawings, Checking  of  Tender  Documents  and  preparing Cost  Estimation.

He joined NEC in 1998 as a field Engineer. He is responsible for preparing Cost Estimation and construction supervision of the Primary Treatment Plants and 'Chrome Recovery and Reuse' Plants. He is also involved in the preparation of the Environmental Action Plan for the proposed In-House improvements of the industries under the project of ICTP. Beside above, he carried out institutional survey for Environmental Technology vendors under ETPI Project.

Miss Nadia Naveed received her B.Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in April 2,000. During studies she worked in Packages (Pvt.) Ltd. and atomic energy minerals center as an Internee. She joined ICTP as Process Analyst in June 2000. She is working under the ICTP project. Her duties include process improvement, carrying out Environmental Audits and Audit report writing.

Mr. Muhammad Umer possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (2000) from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. He is student of M.Sc. Environmental Engineering in the same institution. Presently he is working as Civil Engineer on ICTP Project in various cities of Punjab. He is involved in the preparation of Environmental Audit reports and the structural designing and Cost Estimation of the Wastewater Treatment Plants. He is also involved in the preparation of Environmental Action Plan for In-house improvements of the Tanneries under the project of ICTP.

Mr. Wasim Ahmad possesses B.Com degree (1994 from Punjab University) and is currently working in ICTP as an accountant. He joined ICTP in September 2000. He is responsible for handling account affairs of the office.
Mr. Wasim has a good experience in accounts maintenance. Previously he has been working in well-established organizations like Dawn Bread, Grays Leasing and Telefast.

Mr. Hassan has done his B.Sc. Chemical Engg. from Punjab University Lahore in February 2001. He joined NEC (Pvt.) Limited in June 2001. Since then he is working under ICTP project as Chemical Engineer. His main responsibilities include carrying out Environmental Audits in the tanneries covered under the project, design of Chrome Recovery and Reuse plants. Besides this he is involved in the report writing of Environmental Audit Reports. He is also involved in the training workshops/sessions held by the project.

Kunwar M. Javed Iqbal (EMS Specialist/EMS Team Leader)

Mr. Kunwar holds M.Sc. degree in Environmental Science from Karachi University, Karachi 2001. He secured 3rd position in the course. Earlier he did his bachelors from the same institution.

After completing his studies he joined HSE Department of Pakistan State Oil Company as an Internee on Pilot Treatment Plant for retail outlets. Mr. Kunwar has one year experience of research at HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, Karachi University. He worked for the establishment of Environmental Analytical Laboratory. Besides this Mr. Kunwar has also completed two-month Leadership Training Course at Fauji Foundation Leadership Training Project, Multan. He is enrolled in Ph.D course on Environmental Science in Punjab University, Lahore.

He joined National Environmental Consulting (Pvt.) Limited on 13th of July 2002 as Environmental Management Systems Specialist. His services are hired for ICTP Project. He will provide EMS training to the target tanneries covered under the project. He will also work for the implementation of ISO 14001 EMS in the tanneries.
